Dolomite marble (dolomite is magnesium carbonate). Since the material is of the carbonate series, it is not resistant to acids! The background is pure white, with a rich graphic pattern. The polish is soft, absorbing light rather than reflecting it. The veins that create the pattern are varied in shape - they can be thin, like threads, or wide, ribbon-like, can be straight and curved, can be very different in color: from cold gray to warm pink. For all the color and composition diversity of the material, there are two main varieties: Classic, with a parallel vein pattern, and Cloudy, with a more intricate curvilinear pattern. This picture in our associative memory is uniquely associated with marble. There are many variations, and they all show the richness of the pattern of this eternal material. It looks like the best varieties of Carrara marble Arabescato and Calacatta, and, despite the fact that he concedes them in some performance and aesthetic characteristics (for example, does not work "on the light"), this material in most cases is their excellent, and most importantly, very cost-effective substitute.
